Therapy can be an invitation to explore our inner world and how it relates to the development of the self, relationships, and our way of making meaning in this world. My aim as a psychologist is to offer that unique space to clients where transformation, challenge and deeper understanding can occur. I specialize in work with LGBTQ+ youth and adults, in grief and loss, end of life concerns, identity development, trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and psychosocial oncology. I work with adults, children, and adolescents for psychotherapy and provide assessments for autism, learning disabilities and social/emotional concerns. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy that centers on the therapeutic relationship and the unique needs of my clients. In my practice, I draw primarily from existential/humanistic models, Jungian depth psychology, attachment theory, & multicultural models of therapy. I also utilize play therapy, sand tray therapy, and cognitive and behavioral models. The trust and connection built through the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone to a transformational process in psychotherapy. I I look forward to getting the chance to connect with you to see if I would be the right support for you and/or your child and family. Reach out to set up an initial phone consultation. I so look forward to meeting you.

I am an LPC (MO) and LCPC (KS) who specializes in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, military and first responder trauma, and LGBTQIA-related issues. Throughout my years as a clinician, I have learned that the best therapy is done when a positive connection and therapeutic trust can be built and maintained. I work to make therapy a safe place for clients to open up and feel supported and valued. Therapy can be intense and hard at times, I work to keep a positive balance between seriousness and humor. I am a person-centered therapist and I believe in encouraging and challenging my clients to grow. Life can oftentimes be confusing and difficult, so as a therapist it is my job to offer support, knowledge, and skills to help process through self-doubt, trauma, and cognitive distortions that have often been ingrained from our childhood experiences. In conjunction with many different therapeutic modalities, a positive therapeutic connection, and a little bit of motivation, my clients will be able to reach any goal they set for themselves. If you’re interested in meeting with me and beginning your journey toward confidence and healing, please contact the Small Victories Wellness today!

Marla specializes in Family Interventions for any and all behaviors related to addiction. For 22+ years Marla has had the satisfaction of coaching, mentoring and re-integrating individuals, couples and families back into a new healthy, family system and/or community customized to the individuality and uniqueness of the family unit. Our mission is to create the largest effort to date in order to enable the release of the forces that are keeping them stuck and to re-build the integrity of the individuals who reside within the potential family powerhouse. We employ select methods for "family systems" and models of 'intervention' for helping clients deal with the presence of active addictions and self-destructive behaviors, as a family system and the individuals that reside within that system. Our workshops, training and support services are designed to enable families to change & help themselves through learning while un-learning co-dependent tendencies that subtely lead to the deepening intensity of the issues that are causing the most suffering.
